J&B MET 2016

To Promote the 2015 edition of the J&B Met, clients Rapid Blue & Viacom briefed us to produce 16×1’ pills that reinforced the pay off line: Made For The Mix. This was achieved by focusing on collaborations between 2 individuals from different entertainment genres. If you combine 2 unique perspectives you create something new, something “made for the mix”. Collaborations included comedian Toll A$$ Mo’s work with musician Reason to create the song “bump the cheese up”, fashion designer David Tlale’s work on musician Nandi Mngoma’s music video & Industrial Designers Doctor & Missus collaboration with MTV to producer the MTV Africa Music Awards Trophy. In addition to 10 pills focusing on existing collaborations, the final 3 pills were created by getting viewers to write in with ideas of who they’d like to collaborate with. These included a graffiti artist viewer working with digital artist George Leong, an MTV base viewer working with producer PH to create his very first music track and finally an up & coming filmmaker getting the opportunity to work with a professional director (Mfundo Mkhize) to produce his very first short film. The campaign was awarded a silver Promax in 2015 for best sponsor/brand integration . The content was produced for broadcast on MTV Base
